About

In the heart of the Italian peninsula, among the Etruscan cities and the cradle of the Renaissance, lays the Region of Umbria, where the Italian savoir-faire is not only an art, but also a source of livelihood, and where an important tradition of pottery-making comes to life. From plates to bowls, jugs and tankards, wftb’s Gubbio collection is simple in the forms but rich in elements reminiscent of ancient history. As a result of the best Gubbio potters’ flair, it boasts strap handles of Etruscan-like bucchero and unprecedented hues from Majolica lustreware. A collection of pieces, drawing their sparkle from centuries-old techniques, blending unique and decisive colors of a generous land and its metal medieval armors, with the sunrays going through the tree tops and the iridescent reflections of the night sky.

wftb is a project born of the hands of men by the discerning mind of a woman who, through diligent exploration, discovered and learned the finesse of Italian excellence and expertise. It is a fascinating journey to resurrect the richest Italian handicraft spanning from North to South, discovering those items for which ‘Made in Italy’ still denotes tradition, research, passion, and craft. The work of hands that transform raw materials into charming objects is rediscovered by following ancient stories of rare beauty handed down and perpetuated through the centuries. In a contemporary fashion, wftb reinterprets icons, traditions and materials which have oft been forgotten, paying homage to the Italian tradition. It updates that which has a history, without losing its memory, taste, and feel. It is tradition becoming design, tirelessly creating a timeless, boundless aesthetic.
