Murano Scavo Glass Ewer, c1970 Additional information: Date : 1960-80 Origin : Murano, Italy Bowl Features : Yellow glass with light orange lip handle and trailing. The glassmaker has utilised the scavo technique - the application of various substances to the exterior of the glass which, when heated, fuse to give a weathered effect. Scavo transaltes to excavation - the intenet was to give the glass an antique look and feel. This technique was particularly popular at Cenedese and has also be widely used by Carlo Moretti and Riggateri Type : Lead Size : H 32.5 cm Diameter approx at widest point : 9 cm Condition : Excellent, no chips or cracks Restoration : None
