A Very Fine Magnum Glass Claret Jug, c1850 Additional information: Date : 1840-60 Period : Victoria Origin : England Colour : Clear, pale grey hue Neck : Engraved with fruiting vines Body : Baluster shape with swan neck top down handle with spade terminal. Two-way crimped rim. An upper and lower band of tapered flute cutting banded by prismatic cuts. The central panel engraved with greek key meander Base : Applied foot, ovoid polished pontil. Glass Type : Lead. Size : W 14.9cm x H 28cm Condition : Excellent, no chips or cracks. A small patch of limescale bloom on the neck, a 2mm piece of black clinker nelow the handle Restoration : None
