About the Item

Christofle Gallia Metal Claret Jug, c1900 Galliametal is a variant of polished pewter. This bears the Christofle rams head mark and the Gallia metal cockerel. This organic decoration is typical of French Nouveau inspired design. In glass and treen this was used by Galle no less. *On Pendle Hill in Lancashire these strange fruits grow at the summit and are known as cloudberries. Additional information: Date : c1900 Origin : Manufacture de L'Alfenide , Saint Denis, Paris Decoration : High relief leaves and berries.
