Vintage Faux Bronze Chinese Lidded Ice Bucket by Getz Bros
About the Item
VA very rare and hard to find vntage faux bronze Chinese lidded ice bucket in the style of James Mont by Getz Bros, circa 1960s. The bucket is made of cast metal with inner plastic liner and a patinated bronze finish. The style is frequently attributed to the renowned designer James Mont, but was actually made in Taiwan by Getz Bros. and designed after a Shang Dynasty design. The Shang Dynasty is the earliest ruling dynasty of China to be established in recorded history, though other dynasties predated it. The Shang ruled from 1700 to 1027 B.C. and were known for their advances in math, astronomy, artwork and military technology.
The piece is in very good vintage condition with no cracking or damage to the liner and the metal on both the base and lid are also fully intact with no cracks or damage. The bucket measures 8.25"D x 9.5"H and is a fantastic designer piece with a great faux bronze patina finish. #3184
