A high quality vintage solid copper long-reach watering can by Haws, circa 1980s. Haws watering cans are renowned for their quality and iconic design, with a history dating back to 1886 in England when John Haws patented his unique "watering pot" design. This particular piece is in good vintage condition and measures 18"W x 5"D x 5"H; it has a wonderful aged patina! #4598RM
The Haws design is characterized by its gleaming copper construction, balanced handle, and a long, spout for precise watering, sometimes accompanied by a removable brass "rose" for a gentle shower effect. Modern Haws copper watering cans are still hand-pieced and soldered, reflecting a tradition of craftsmanship. Copper develops a beautiful, oxidized patina over time, adding to its vintage appeal; however, it can be polished to restore its original shine if desired as this one has been. If you prefer the oxidized patina look don't polish it!
