About the Item

A very fine antique 18th century porcelain bowl. By Frankenthal during the Carl Theodor period. With a group of polychrome enamel decorated fruit and nuts to the bowl, floral sprays to the border, and a gilt edged, molded rim. Simply a wonderful, well preserved bowl! Date: 18th century Overall condition: It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition.The foot rim has a large clamshell chip and a kiln stand flaw to the center of the base. The clay body has a slight organe peel finish with bumps and divets, and the bowl has black flaws typical of the period's porcelain dispersed throughout the body. Otherwise, there is a firing flaw under leaves on the rim, some minor wear and losses in the decoration, some very fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Frankenthal Marks: Blue underglaze CT Carl Theodor factory mark and incised marks Measurements: Diameter: ca. 9 1/4 in. Height: ca. 1 1/2 in. Items purchased from this dealer must delight you.
