About the Item

An antique sauté pan, marked Duparquet, Huot & Moneuse Co., and an excellent example of high-quality American-made copper cookware. This copper sauté pan has a polished copper exterior and a tinned interior. It has a wrought iron handle, riveted to the body with copper rivets. The handle bears a natural patina of age, showing the typical craftsmanship found in older, high-quality copper cookware. The stamp on the side of the pan reads "D.H.& M.Co. N.Y. 43-45 Wooster St.". A 1909 catalogue with the 43-45 Wooster St. business address shows an example of this pan and indicates it came in sizes from 5"-20"diameter. This is a beautiful, functional piece of history, ideal for use in the kitchen or as a collector’s display. It would make a statement in any culinary collection. These pans are increasingly rare, with Duparquet, Huot & Moneuse pans sought after by both culinary professionals and collectors of antique cookware. Dimensions: 12"dia x 2.75"h (pan) 25.75"l x 6.25"h (pan and handle to tip of handle) Weight: 8lbs / 3629 grams Copper Thickness: 2.637mm Condition: Very good. This pot has been professionally polished and retinned by East Coast Tinning. As a result, it looks almost as good as new. Provenance: Property from a Litchfield, Connecticut Estate Collection About Copper Cookware: Copper has played an important role in culinary history for centuries. No other metal can be counted on to absorb heat and distribute it as rapidly and evenly as copper. Similarly, when removed from the heat copper responds quickly. As a result of the responsiveness of copper cookware it has been the go-to choice for chefs and cooks all over the world.

Large Antique Buffet Food Warmer From The Household Supply Bond St. London

London, England C. 1884 a Boyd's Patent Campaign Cooker Food Warmer, also known as The Universal Heater. This unit is larger than others, having four openings for warmers. It has a removable top with a scalloped edge, is silverplate and has interlocking monogram engraved on the top (the initials are LW/WL with a crown symbol). The stand bottom is marked, "BOYD'S PATENT" and has six turned wooden bun feet. The underside also has a plaque reading "THE HOUSEHOLD SUPPLY AND ATMOSPHERIC CHURN COMP'Y LTD, 119 NEW BOND ST, W". While missing the original spirit burners, modern day sternos would work well. This is a very attractive and decorative item that could be used for a variety of purposes including food warming and display, a unique charcuterie board, for floral display and so on. I have seen copper versions that comprised a cooker/warmer , two spirit burners with snuffer caps and a cast iron...
