Adams & Bromley English Majolica Cheese Tray, Buttercup & Fern Leaf Border

About the Item

A large, round Adams & Bromley English Majolica cheese tray, late 19th Century. Adams & Bromley operated the Victoria Works in Broad Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent from 1873 to 1886. The server shows a running border of yellow and pink butter cup flowers with green fern leaves on a brown ground, edged in yellow ochre. The mottled center is glazed to resemble tortoise shell. The footed verso also shows a mottled glazing. A gorgeous piece measuring over one foot across, a fantastic platter for presenting a selection of cheeses. 12.5 inches in Diameter x 1.75 inches H Excellent antique condition.
