Antique Silver and Green Glass Centrepiece Dishes Art Nouveau Style
About the Item
A fine and impressive suite of three antique German silver and green glass dishes, in the Art Nouveau style; an addition to our silver mounted glass collection.
These fine antique German silver and green glass dishes have a circular shaped form onto four bracket style feet, in the Art Nouveau style.
The suite consists of one large dish, with two slightly smaller identical dishes.
The supporting German silver body of each dish is embellished with four panels of embossed and pierced stylised leaf festoon and scrolling leaf decoration, incorporating vacant shaped cartouches.
Each panel is bordered with broad vertical columns accented with a scrolling foliate motif to the nadir.
The shaped rims of these impressive antique green glass dishes are accented with small apical motifs.
Each bracket style foot is ornamented with embossed scroll and stylised leaf decoration on a matte background.
These centrepiece dishes are fitted with plain green glass liners.
The hallmarks struck to the surface of these impressive dishes include:

Condition
These antique green glass dishes are a good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.
The decoration to each centrepiece dish is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each dish are all very clear.

These magnificent and large antique George V English sterling silver bowls/centrepieces have a compressed circular form onto a knopped pedestal and domed circular foot. The plain body of each piece is encircled with an impressive band of applied and chased olive leaf festoon decoration consisting of overlapping leaf designs with a bead motif to subdivision. Both sides of each piece is further ornamented with exceptional and large applied vacant cartouche bordered with a ribbon tied oak and olive branch, in addition to a scrolling and leaf motif to the upper portion. The upper portions of these concaved cartouches are subtly elevated and joined to the moulded decoration to the shaped rim.
