Antique Victorian Sterling Silver and Cut-Glass Centerpiece

About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver and cut-glass centerpiece; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection This exceptional antique sterling silver centerpiece has a an oval form onto four pillar style legs. The sterling silver body of the Victorian centerpiece is encompassed with a band of pierced quatrefoil shaped motifs in addition to four applied ribbon bow designs to the lower portion. The upper and lower rims are embellished with plain applied moulded borders. This exceptional centerpiece is supported by four pillar style legs accented with cast and applied lion mask designs in junction with the body. This antique centerpiece is fitted with the impressive original cut-glass dish. Condition This Victorian centrepiece is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the legs are all very clear. Dimensions Length 19.4cm/7.6". Width 14cm/5.5". Height 11.3cm/4.4". Weight 8.3 troy ounces/258g (excluding glass dish). The unusual fan-cut decorative rim above a deep cut diamond pattern all-round body with a single ring stem socle, ending on a circular base with star cut pattern underneath.
