English Ironstone Blue and White Platter
About the Item
English ironstone blue and white platter from the Staffordshire region, the border features alternating scenes of castles with tress and stylized foliate and arabesques. The main body depicts a river scene with ladies conversing and a fountain supported by nymphs in the foreground, large trees along both banks, and a large castle in the background. This oversize platter is in very good condition, the blue mark on the back rim reads "Lozere Ironstone" Echallinor. ( there is also the number ''18'' impressed on the bottom.
