Keller & Guérin Luneville French Trompe L’Oeil Napkin Burgundy Asparagus Server
About the Item
An Aesthetic Movement French Faïence trompe l’oeil asparagus server, Keller & Guerin, Luneville – circa 1890-1900.
A scarce example – a fluted edge burgundy colored plate with a “fool the eye napkin” lying across the surface, holding seven asparagus spears. The napkin is glazed in a celadon green with a checkered floral pattern, fringed at one end in cream and burgundy. The napkin extends beyond the round plate, adding to the dimensional mold.
