Mid Century Franco Lapini Style Crayfish Lobster Silver Plate Seafood Set c 1960
About the Item
An unusual and hard-to-find mid century Hollywood Regency set of silver plate novelty seafood serving trays in the style of Franco Lapini, made in Europe c. 1960.
This fine quality set consists of one large dish 15 1/8” / 38.4cm diameter, and six matching smaller dishes, each 7 ¼” / 18.5cm L x 5” / 12.5cm W. The small plates are shaped as scallop shells, while the large plate has six scalloped sections to the outer rim. Each plate has a model of a crayfish that as well as being very decorative, helps in the handling, making the plates very comfortable to hold in one hand. Together they make a charming group of crustaceans, and are ideal for serving seafood.
The silver plating is in good condition. The set is very elegant and great fun: very much a conversation piece.
