"P.li " platter by Andrea Macruz, Brazilian Contemporary Design
About the Item
Designed by Andrea Macruz, the "P.li" is a contemporary platter made of porcelain. Created in 2011.
P.li is a platter whose drawing was developed through a parametric software and it is composed of concentric lines (a radial grid) and some points that either attract or repel these lines.
The change in position of these points will alter the whole drawing creating complex and unpredictable patterns, a lot of which would be inconceivable without a computer.
The P.li has won an honourable mention at "Premio Salão Design 2016"- the biggest Product Design Award in Latin America.
Andrea Macruz is a designer in "Nolii," that focuses on the study of Nature and advanced computational systems. New technologies allow the reproduction of complex forms and patterns that would be difficult without the computer.
