Each plate having a border cast with with foliage and shells. In 1819 Paul Storr and John Samuel Hunt founded a firm of manufacturing and retail jewellers and silversmiths. He traded as as Storr & Co. (1819-22), Storr & Mortimer (1822-38), Mortimer & Hunt (1838-43) and then Hunt & Roskell (1843-97). Hunt & Roskell had a shop at 156 New bond Street and the workshop at 26 Harrison Street. John Samuel Hunt remained a partner until his death in 1865 and his son John Hunt took over. The Art Journal Illustrated Catalogue of 1851 in describing Hunt and Roskell stated that 'Without disparagement to any other house in London, in a similar branch of business, it may be said that Messrs. Hunt and Roskell have no rival…and a visit to their show-rooms is like inspecting a museum of Art.' Bibliography: Culme, J.
