Antique Paris Porcelain & Ormolu Mounted 3 Piece Garniture Early 20th Century
About the Item
A beautiful and monumental Paris porcelain ormolu mounted three piece garniture set with hand-painted scenes and delicate gilt decoration, Circa 1900 in date.
The set comprising a pair of lidded vases and a two handled oval bowl. The Royal Blue ground bodies are superbly embellished with rich gilding enclosing painted romantic classical panels reversed by landscape scenes.
The centrepiece bowl with a Paris factory label and bears the blue hand painted Chateau de Blois mark the vases bear the blue hand painted Chateau de Chantilly mark, with the romantic panels signed 'Barats'
Condition:
In excellent undamaged condition, with no signs of damage or repair, please see photos for confirmation.

Bottger instead discovered the method of creating porcelain, a favored and valuable item in the king's eyes. The king announced to Europe in 1710 that he would open a porcelain manufactory in Dresden. He instead opened one at nearby Albrechtsburg castle. Espionage was rampant, and the king guarded his porcelain secret, even though it meant imprisoning workers within the castle walls. By 1720, the secret was leaked and porcelain producers popped up in Vienna and Venice. Dresden porcelain adopted Saxon crossed swords in under-glaze blue as its distinguishing mark.
