Japanese 19th Century Blue and White Porcelain Plate with Landscapes and Flowers

About the Item

A Japanese porcelain plate from the 19th century, with hand-painted blue and white mountainous landscape and architecture décor, surrounded by geometric motifs. Created in Japan during the 19th century, this porcelain plate features a delicate blue and white décor depicting an artistic and airy landscape in the center, surrounded by an abundance of geometric motifs. Our eyes are immediately drawn to the energetic dark blue lines making up the mountains and trees, while a discreet house is hidden behind an elegant tree. To the right, additional houses complete the ensemble. The rest of the composition however, contrasts beautifully with these serene scenes, by presenting a series of perfectly organized geometric motifs The plate's border is adorned by scenes alternating with flowers while the edge is scalloped. With its blue and white décor and peaceful subject, this Japanese hand-painted porcelain plate from the 19th century will make for a lovely addition to any home décor, perhaps placed on a commode, side table or console! The stand used to photograph the plate is not included.
