About the Item
This KPM hand-painted porcelain bowl with lid dates to the late 19th century, circa 1870.
KPM (Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur) stands for the Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Berlin, that was founded in 1763 by King Frederick II of Prussia, The king used this “white gold” as a means of diplomacy for his court and as gifts to Russia and other European courts and aristocracy.
The bowl is signed underneath with the blue under-glaze mark for KPM.
Very good condition, no chips or marks.
