Octagonal Worcester Porcelain Plate Fan Panel Landscape Pattern, 1768-70 Additional information: Date : c1768-70 Period : George III Marks : Faux Chinese mark - feathered W's and '96' characters Origin : England Colour : Blue and white, powder blue ground decorated in the fan-panelled landscape pattern Size : H 2.8 cm Maximum diameter : 18.4 cm Condition : Excellent; there is a very small nick in the rim rim Restoration : None Note : The Fan-Panelled Landscape pattern appears on pieces from Worcester, Bow and Caughley, and as well as the subtle variations from one manufacturer to another, there are also differences apparent on pieces nominally from the same source. This piece, for instance - with its marks being consistent with a Worcester derivation - has a rock in the foreground of the central, circular image - other examples may have a sampan instead.

    First Period Worcester Porcelain Holly Berry Pattern Teacup and Saucer, Hop Trellis Pattern, Circa 1775. The First Period Worcester porcelain teacup and saucer has a reeded French shape and is richly decorated with the Holly Berry pattern- a variation of the Hop Trellis pattern. Panels of purple plants alternate with berried foliage between borders of lilac diaper and gold herringbone and a lower border of white pearls on a bright turquoise ground. There are gilt dentil rims and the inside of the cup has flowers and berried sprigs below a gold band. Dimensions: Overall: 2 3/8 inches high x 5 1/4 inches wide; Saucer: 5 1/4 inch diameter x 1 inch high; Cup: 1 7/8 inches high x 4 inches wide x 3 3/8 inches deep.
