Hulya Sozer is a ceramic artist, based in Istanbul, specialased in figurative sculptures. Her work mostly focuses on portraits of women and expressions. Recently she wanted to explore this style on everyday objects and prepared a special cup and furniture collection.
The Silhouette Collection is a reference from Rococo to the present day. Inspired by the elegant, easy to understand attitude and softened colors of the period, this serie is a collection of ergonomic cups that combines the thin and deformed form of porcelain defying the geometric and symmetrical style.
Face cup is from the Silhouette Collection that she worked on facial expressions behind a veil.
The veil, witholding the details of the face, reveals the emotions; thus allowing the artist emphasize the underwhelming feelings through a suffocating human image.

Kitbox Design
Kitbox Design is an Istanbul based Design Studio, founded by Industrial Designer Tugce Sonmez Evin, that mainly focuses on quality handcrafted home and office accessories and lighting design. Kitbox's design approach is formed around the most traditional and natural materials, such as wood, glass, copper and brass, that are crafted by hand into durable, modern and astonishing everyday objects. In most of our designs, machine processed flawless pieces are combined with handcrafted unique pieces and all are connected into an eclectic yet integral design by hand. Each object is unique and interacts with its user to serve an experience, other than its function. An illusion, a making experience or a satisfying image of geometry... Coming from an Industrial Design base, Kitbox’s sense of aesthetics is mostly shaped around geometry and overcoming impossibilities of the forms through design. The idea is creating a quality elegance that presents the talents of handcrafting through minimalistic designs and put a new perspective into ordinary everyday experiences. We believe, design is a form of communication that can overcome languages and miles if it reflects human touch.
