Worcester Early Porcelain Fence Pattern Sparrow Beak Jug

About the Item

A very fine antique English porcelain sparrow beak jug decorated in blue and white with the fence pattern by renowned makers Worcester and dating from around 1770. The finely made jug stands raised on a narrow round foot rim with a bulbous shaped body and narrow funnel shaped top with a beak formed pouring spout and simple ear loop shape handle. The jug is decorated in blue and white with the well recorded ‘fence pattern’ with a simple line border around the top edge of the jug and with the typical blue crescent makers mark to the base. Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art market. The jug is in good fine condition with wear associated with age and use and with a tiny firing flaw to the body.
