18th C. Terracotta Jar with Incised Design
About the Item
18th C. Terracotta Jar with elaborate incised design in a worn reddish finish.
Potentially much older, the design consists of hand molded lines running horizontally with cross hatch design incised between a repeating motif of three molded vertical lines alternating with incised triangles and round incised circles throughout. An interesting and unusual design of unknown origin. Overall structurally sound. Losses/chips around rim and base.
