About the Item
Wheel Thrown Ceramic Vase / Flower Bottle by Jason Fox
Part of his Flower Bottle Series, American contemporary ceramic artist Jason Fox borrows inspiration from the antique Korean silhouette of the same name to create a vase perfect for both wet and dry flower arrangements.
This vase was carefully thrown on the wheel in a tan stoneware. After letting the clay set up and become leather hard, it is then further refined by trimming, and finally the foot is finished and stamped. Once the vessel slowly dries it is then bisque fired.
This piece was then glazed and reduction fired to over 2000 degrees to cone ten in a gas kiln. After the glaze firing the foot is sanded to ensure a smooth surface.
A truly unique piece handmade by Jason Fox in Los Angeles that can be used functionally as a vase or as an accent piece for any modern decor.

Jason Fox Ceramics
A Southern Californian for over half his life, Contemporary Ceramic Artist Jason Fox draws upon his classical education in Architecture and Art History as well as his love of surfing and the ocean. He works organically letting the imperfections and unique delicate qualities of the clay and materials stand front and center. "Each handmade vessel has a very individual personality. I want to let these personalities shine and enrich your lives as you encounter them though out your days." Jason's work is a result of his endless explorations with clay and his affinity for the Korean Masters. Forever following his curiosities the work has organically become a physical journal of his conversations with craft, form and ornamentation.
