Jason Fox Wheel Thrown Ceramic Vase / Flower Bottle

About the Item

Wheel Thrown Ceramic Vase/ Flower Bottle by Jason Fox Part of his Flower Bottle Series, American contemporary ceramic artist Jason Fox borrows inspiration from the antique Korean silhouette of the same name to create a vase perfect for both wet and dry flower arrangements. This vase was carefully thrown on the wheel in a tan stoneware. After letting the clay set up and become leather hard, it is then further refined by trimming, the foot is finished, stamped and finally the piece has porcelain slip organically applied. Once the vessel slowly dries it is then bisque fired. The piece was then dipped in a clear glaze and reduction fired to over 2000 degrees at cone ten in a gas kiln. After the glaze firing the foot is sanded to ensure a smooth surface. A truly unique piece handmade by Jason Fox in Los Angeles that can be used functionally as a vase or as an accent piece for any modern decor.
