About the Item
A Mid 19th Century Staffordshire Pottery Cottage Money Box, Circa 1840
This delightful mid 19th century Staffordshire pottery money box is made in the form of an English country estate cottage with large and impressive lattice windows and steps leading up to a grand canopied doorway. The cottage has a thatched roof with circular chimneys brightly painted in rich colours throughout. On the reverse of the cottage roof, there is a slot for storing coinage in the hollow interior. Circa 1840.
