Staffordshire Pottery Figure of a Lion with a Pearlware Glaze Early 19th Century

About

Antique Staffordshire pottery figure of a lion standing on a base with a paw resting on a ball made in the early 19th century. The figure is well coloured with a good pearlware glaze and dates to the early 19th century England. The application of the blue decoration around the base is especially appealing. Literature: Page 154 figure ref 126.43 Volume 3 Staffordshire Figures 1780-1840 author Myrna Schkolne published by Schiffer.
