Takeshi Yasuda b.1943 olive colour slip decorated slab dish
About the Item
Takeshi Yasuda is a Japanese potter who was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1943. Yasuda trained at the Daisei-Kiln in Mashiko from 1963 to 1966 and established his first studio there. His early work consisted of ash-glazed stoneware, after which he explored sancai and creamware. Takeshi Yasuda is one of the most celebrated potters working in Europe today. He settled in Britain in 1973, combining his creative work with teaching for Art Schools and Universities across the UK.
This very tactile slab dish is a natural neutral olive tone with underglaze slip decorated mark making. A good example of this series.
