Terracotta Pot from Mexico, Circa 1920's

About

Terracotta water jar from the northern sierras of Puebla, hand crafted by the indigenous Nahua people, circa 1920's. Originally used for storing water from nearby rivers. This style of pottery is now scarce. The general shape of the vessel as well as the style of the handles are strong indicators as to the community that they come from.
