About the Item
Antique 19th century French very rare and exceptional quality solid silver & niello serving tray, of shaped oblong form, the boarder beautifully decorated with laurel leaves and applied with realistically modeled branch handles, the center engraved and nielloed with a woodland scene depicting foxes hunting pheasants, the centre bearing large and elaborate initials (PLC). Hallmarked French hallmarks, Minerva (950 standard), Makers Mark (indistinguishable).
