A Superb Example of an early heavy gauge Irish Sterling Silver Georgian style crested Card or Wine Tray of outstanding quality and exceptional condition for such an early silver item. The shaped circular form with exquisite stylish rim with highly ornate scrolling details, edged with scroll and shell decoration, inner surface chased with summer fruits, leafy foliage and birds. Raised on three firm supports, each with unusual double “C” scroll above a pointed pad foot. Mark of W N for William Nolan Dublin Hallmark for 1823. Condition: Superb condition with wonderful patination, no losses to anywhere. No repairs anywhere, good crisp easy to read hallmarks. Diameter: 8” (20cm). Weight: (an impressive) 15ozs. (426 grams).
