Applied Lap Over Edge 12 Tiffany Mixed Metal Demispoons
About the Item
A fine set of twelve (12) circa 1880 applied lap over edge demitasse spoons by Tiffany & Co., of New York, the background hand hammered, with applied elements that include fish, crab, shells, money, gourds, leaves, ferns, butterflies, dragonfly and more (please see pix); some of the applied elements wrap around to the back of the spoons. The gilding of the applied elements is in mint condition. In original Tiffany Paris leather and silk lined box whose closing mechanism is working. The cover has an applied sterling silver 'FR' monogram, the same as spoons. This was no doubt a special order.
Dimensions: 4 3/4 inches long. 'FR' monogram at top of terminus reverse. Marked as illustrated in photo. In excellent, if not mint, condition.
