About the Item

This beautiful elongated modernist serving platter was realized by the esteemed artist Jurg Lanrein in Switzerland during the latter half of the 20th century. It offers a rectangular form with raised sides and hand embellished organic striations running lengthwise from end to end. Reminiscent of a deconstructed Morris Louis painting, the piece offers a lively and surprising palate with hues of emerald, sunflower yellow, aubergine and peach. With its austere form, clean modernist lines and beautiful quality of construction, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. This piece is as much a functional serving piece, as an objet d'art that promises to add more than a touch of sophistication to any surface that it graces. It is signed on the back by the artist and is in excellent vintage condition. Switzerland, 20th century Dimensions: height: 0.5" x width: 19.25" x depth: 6"
