L. Posen 800 Silver Sauce Boat
About the Item
This vintage early 20th century ornamental 800 silver sauce boat is beautifully designed by the German silversmith, Lazarus Posen. This exceptionally crafted silver sauce boat is designed with a new classical motif. It has a stunning sculpted & handsomely tooled shell shape body with a pedestal base mounted upon an oval underplate of matching design. The interior of the “boat” has a subtle contrasting gold wash. The base of the underplate is clearly stamped, L. Posen, with 800 hallmarks & numbered 58793. It is in museum quality condition.
