About the Item

A rare and beautifully composed mid-century set of 6 teak “fish” boards presented on a wall-mounted plate with an integrated wooden rod. Each board hangs gracefully by its eye, creating a sculptural ensemble that is both functional and decorative. The refined craftsmanship, organic silhouettes, and warm teak grain are strongly reminiscent of Jens Harald Quistgaard’s work for Dansk in the 1960s. While the piece bears no maker’s mark, its form, proportions, and detailing are fully aligned with the Scandinavian modern design ethos for which Quistgaard is celebrated. Dimensions • Wall plate: 26.5 cm high × 6.5 cm wide (10.4” × 2.6”), softly rounded corners • Boards: 36.5 cm high × 13 cm wide (14.4” × 5.1”), approximately 6 mm thick Condition Excellent vintage condition with minimal signs of age. The teak surface is beautifully preserved, with a rich natural patina and smooth finish. Ready for immediate display or functional use. Highlights • Elegant and uncommon wall-mounted configuration • Minimalist Danish design aesthetic — functional art at its finest • Ideal for collectors of Scandinavian modern design or mid-century serveware This sophisticated set embodies the timeless balance between utility and artistry that defines Nordic modernism — an exquisite addition to any curated interior or design collection.
