An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage English straight sterling silver flatware service for twelve persons, designed by Gerald Benney; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection
The pieces of this exceptional vintage sterling silver flatware set for twelve persons have been crafted in a Gerald Benney design.
The surface of each Fiddle-shaped handle is ornamented with two vertical rows of stylised spiral decoration, emanating from a plain band to the stem.
The reverse surface of each spoon and fork is plain and unembellished.

The components of this Sheffield silver vintage canteen have been crafted by Emile Viner of Viner's Ltd in 1967; Gerald Benney was a consultant designer at Viner from 1959 -1969.
The original stainless steel blade of each knife bears the retailer's mark 'Viners of Sheffield, Stainless England' and the stem of each fork and spoon features 'Viners Sterling Sheffield'.
This impressive vintage Viners cutlery set is supplied in the original felt cutlery rolls with individual presentation boxes; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduce tarnishing.
Condition
This vintage Viners cutlery set is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The decoration to each piece is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each piece are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine and impressive canteen of cutlery.
