About the Item

Art Nouveau 'Wave' Motif Silver on Copper Flagon by Kayserzinn Germany, circa 1900s This is a fine example of Art Nouveau with this exquisite 'Wave' motif silver on copper flagon by Kayserzinn. From Germany and dating back to the 1900s, this transitional work designed with the captivating aesthetics of the Vienna Secessionist movement. Standing elegantly at 16 inches, the flagon boasts a hinged bulbous lid that gracefully crowns the piece. The handled flagon showcases a continuous frieze adorned with delicate leaf and berry motifs, reminiscent of nature's beauty. The artistry continues with a turned body and subtle vignettes of ocean waves on the base, evoking a sense of fluidity and movement. Stamped with the distinguished marks of quality, including the number 22, Kayserzinn, and the identifier 4010. This piece encapsulates the essence of an era marked by artistic innovation and inspiration from the natural world. A true find, this Art Nouveau flagon harmoniously marries form and function.
