About the Item
Decorate your bar, cellar or cabinet with this decorative silvered copper samovar. Crafted in England by Reed and Barton circa 1905, the tea drinking device stands on a tilt stand; the container is accompanied by two exquisite goblets. Ideal for enhancing the charm of your kitchen, console, or commode, this captivating pitcher and cups set showcases an enchanting sculpture of a graceful woman on one side and a majestic crane on the other. Delicate leaf motifs grace the entire piece. Crafted with impeccable artistry, the silver serving ware boasts a splendid silver finish and intricate detailing that exemplifies its timeless appeal, it is in fair condition commensurate with age and use.
Henry G. Reed and Charles E. Barton first worked together as craftsman at a small silversmith manufacturing company. They honed their craft while moving up the ranks in the company. In 1824, the men became presidents and re-named the company to Reed & Barton; founding the brand we know today. They carried their deep respect for quality and craftsmanship throughout their career. These values still remain the cornerstones of the Reed & Barton brand, and they have won numerous awards, even being used in the White House by multiple U.S. presidents. Today, Reed & Barton is still one of the most recognizable names in American silver and gift ware.
