Vintage Canteen x 6 Silver Plated Cutlery Set Unused 20th Century
About the Item
This is a stunning vintage 6 place setting A1 Sheffield England, silver plated cutlery set by the renowned Sheffield silversmith Viners dating from the second half of the 20th century, and never having been used.
The beautiful set consists of 44 pieces in the Buckingham pattern in the original fitted case
It is beautifully housed in an English made oak canteen case with the original key and featuring a lift up top with custom fitting in red felt.
This is the complete set, it is highly unusual to find such a nice decorative patterned complete set !

Viners
has a long and illustrious history as a family of silversmiths in the UK since the late 19th century. Establishing their first manufacturing business in 1908 in Sheffield, specialising in plated holloware, they were one of the first businesses to introduce new cutting edge production techniques.
After the First World War, Viners diversified into cutlery production and became leading cutlers within the marketplace. Viners were the first cutlers to utilise real marketing strategies; specifically designed packaging and advertising campaigns led to Viners being the most recognised cutlery brand in the UK.
