Vintage 1881 Rogers Flirtation Silverplate Flatware, Oneida, 1959, 60 Pieces

About the Item

Oneida Ltd, formerly Oneida Community, was established in Oneida, New York in 1848 by a utopian commune. Oneida started production of silver-plated flatware and hollow-ware in 1899. Oneida purchased the Wm A. Rogers company in 1929. The Wm A. Rogers firm was founded in the 1890s by Wm. A. Rogers, a small storekeeper of New York using the "(R) ROGERS (R)" trademark from c. 1901 and the "1881 (R) ROGERS (R)" from c. 1910. The "1881 (R) ROGERS (R)" markings are seen on the back of each piece in this set, manufactured by Oneida in 1959. The 60 Piece Set includes: 12 Modern Hollow Knife 9 1/8 in 12 Fork 7 3/8 in 20 Teaspoon 6 in 4 Salad Fork 6 3/8 in 2 Oval Spoon 6 3/4 in 1 Sugar Spoon 2 Flat Handle Butter Spreader 6 3/8 in 1 Flat Handle Master Butter Knife 6 7/8 in 1 Serving Spoon 8 1/4 in 1 Pierced Serving Spoon 8 1/4 in 1 Medium Serving Fork 8 3/8 in 1 Solid Ladle 7 1/2 in 1 Casserole Spoon 8 5/8 in 1 Pierced Pie Server 9 1/2 in 1 Flat Handle Master Butter Knife 6 7/8 in Does not come with storage case. In good vintage condition, with some normal wear and minor scratches. Polishes beautifully.
