About the Item

A vintage round silverplate Paul Revere reproduction bowl. This bowl will be great for serving fruit, or storing items on a coffee table or side table. It is made by WM Rogers from Massachusetts and is stamped on the bottom with the brands logo. Bowls in this shape are often referred to as “Paul Revere” or “Liberty” bowls. In 1767 the Sons of Liberty commissioned fellow member (and silversmith) Paul Revere to create a piece that honored the ninety-two members of the Massachusetts House of Representatives who refused to rescind a letter sent throughout the colonies protesting the Townshends Act. From that point onwards, bowls in this shape became referred to as Paul Revere bowls in honor of his piece created for the Sons of Liberty. Dimensions: 9" Diameter 4.5" Tall
