This set includes pairs of stylised pelicans, swans, peacocks, dogs, cockerels and geese on rectangular bases. No monograms. A refined and eminently modernist aesthetic. The set is presented in its original box. Manufacturer: Yorel was the name of the Maison Desny after its purchase in the 1930s. Maison Desny (Clément Nauny and Desnet) settled in 1927 at 122, avenue des Champs-Elysées in Paris. From 1928, the house seems to receive large orders of complete interiors, but it is essentially recognized and sought for its production of small decorative objects or utilities in silver metal. Many prestigious personalities are among the clients of the Desny House, which collaborates sometimes with a Robert Mallet-Stevens and a Jean-Michel Frank for the creation of new interiors, sometimes with an André Masson or the Giacometti who bring their contribution to the elaboration of original pieces. the firm closed its doors at some point following the death of Desnet in 1933. Such a relatively short operational life span defies the firm's prodigious output, both in terms of the range and creativity of its products and of its high quality of Industrial manufacture. No other design firm captured with more panache the emerging machine-age aesthetic of the late 1920's. Measures: Length of base: between 3.35 and 4.13 Weight: 590 grams.
