Sterling silver tea tray by Harrison Brothers & Howson in 1935, retailed by Asprey of London. A magnificent piece of undulating form. Made by the renowned Sheffield firm of Harrison Brothers & Howson (George Howson) in 1935 with the Silver Jubilee mark of King George V & Queen Mary. Normal light wear, scratches to the surface commensurate with age & use. 4,400 grams; 141 troy oz. 27.25" over handles, 16.75" d., 1.75" h. at handles. A fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver galleried tea tray; an addition to our antique silver teaware collection. This fine antique George V sterling silver tea tray has a rounded navette shaped form. The surface of the tray is plain and unembellished. The flared galleried border is embellished with pierced arch and vertical pale decoration accented with circular motifs to the elevating ends. The upper rim of the hallmarked galleried border is ornamented with a band of applied reed decoration.
