Antique 1900s Turkish Silver Coffee Jug

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Turkish silver coffee jug; an addition to the silver teaware collection. This exceptional antique Turkish silver coffee jug has a baluster shaped form. The surface of this antique coffee jug is plain and encompassed with bands of chased rope twist style ornamentation, in addition to an applied palmette and bead decorated border to the upper rim. This antique coffee jug is fitted with a plain domed hinged hallmarked cover, surmounted with an exceptional cast silver finial realistically modelled in the form of a bud on tiered foliate designs. The hinge to the cover is embellished with an exceptional cast silver floral spray design in junction with the cover. This coffee jug is fitted with the original cast hallmarked Turkish silver scrolling handle accented with a leaf decoration to the upper portion of the hand piece. Condition: This antique silver coffee jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality for its type and in exceptional condition in keeping with age. The Turkish hallmarks struck to the surface of the body, spout and handle, in addition to the rim of the cover are very clear.
