About the Item
A magnificent Antique George II Sterling Silver Swing Handled Basket with an oval form standing on four shaped feet with bacchanalian faces at the capital of each foot. The Basket has an ornate chased floral & scroll pattern border and an elegant pierced design on the sides. The interior base of this 18th century Silver Basket has a detailed engraved design incorporating the floral and scroll motif of the border surrounding an engraved armorial.
Made in London, England in 1745 by Edward Aldridge.
