An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare pair of antique Georgian English sterling silver Fiddle Thread and Drop pattern gravy spoons; an addition to our silver flatware collection.
This exceptional and rare pair of antique George III English sterling silver gravy spoons have been crafted in the Fiddle Thread and Drop pattern.
The anterior surface of each spoon stem and handle is encompassed with thread decoration and embellished to the terminal with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a lion's jambe erased, charged with a tower between two roundels.
The reverse of these Georgian spoons feature further thread decoration in addition to pendant drop ornamentations to the heels and above the pips to the handle terminals.
This exceptional pair of spoons has been crafted in a rare pattern to locate; completing a full service would be almost impossible.

An exceptional, fine and impressive set of six antique George IV English sterling silver Fiddle pattern tradesman spoons; an addition to our silver flatware collection
These exceptional and rare antique George IV English sterling silver tradesman/sample spoons* have been crafted in the Fiddle pattern.
The anterior surface of each spoon handle terminal incorporates the contemporary engraved initial 'MAG'.
The reverse of each 19th century spoon has a rounded heel and to a pip to the handle terminal.
By virtue of their size these versatile silver spoons could be used for a multitude of functions, including: pickle, mustard/condiment, small coffee spoon.
These exceptional and collectable spoons were crafted by the renowned London silversmith William Eaton.
NOTE: * Such a spoon would have been carried by a tradesman as a sample size, demonstrating at a small scale the pattern and quality of spoon available for production by the workshop.
