Antique Victorian Double Castle Top Card Case Birmingham 1839 Joseph Willmore
This exquisite card case depicts a scene on the front from Windsor Castle with a rare view from the south West.
And another scene on the back of Abbotsford, home of Sir Walter Scott.
The pierced and embossed foiliate decoration with added flowers and strawberries is of the upmost quality, displaying the finest die casting of that period.
Joseph Willmore was a renowned silversmith making in the first half of the nineteenth century.
He specialised in making unusual card cases,caddy spoons,vinaigrettes,snuff boxes and wine labels.
All of the above were of the finest quality.
