Antique Victorian Scottish Sterling Silver Teapot Stand

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian Scottish sterling silver teapot stand; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection.
This fine antique Victorian Scottish sterling silver teapot stand has an octofoil form onto a circular collet foot.
The surface of this fine example of Scottish silverware is embellished with exceptional flat engraved scrolling leaf decoration, encircling a vacant circular cartouche to the center.
The swept border is ornamented with an impressive chased floral and foliate decorated border, accented with applied thread decoration to the rim.
The underside of the teapot stand is fitted with an inset wood base and bears the original baize to the underside.
By virtue of its size, this versatile teapot stand could be utilized as a coaster.
Condition
This antique teapot stand is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition.
The flat engraved decoration is very crisp and the chased decoration is very sharp.
Full Scottish silver hallmarks struck to the rim of the base are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique teaware.

This magnificent William IV sterling silver punch ladle has been hand forged in a rare and unusual design.
The handle of the punch/soup ladle has been realistically modelled in the form of a horse's head, emanating from an impressive scrolling enveloping leaf design.
The tapering stem is embellished with the contemporary engraved presentation inscription 'Presented to A. C. Renton by his father on his birth day, 3rd May 1833'.
The reverse of this impressive example of antique silverware features an exceptional honeysuckle style heel to the shell shaped bowl.
This exceptional 19th century example of Scottish silverware retains the original gilding.

This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver teapot has an inverted pear shaped form onto a circular spreading foot.
The surface of the bachelor teapot is plain and unembellished.
The upper rim of the body is ornamented with a band of cast and applied gadroon decoration all in a swirl design.
This antique silver teapot is fitted with a hallmarked, domed flush hinged cover surmounted with an impressive and original, cast sterling silver flame style finial; the flush hinge indicates the high quality of the piece.
This exceptional example of antique teaware retains the original C scroll carved painted wood handle featuring a plain scrolling thumbpiece and a cast silver leaf decorated design to the upper socket,
This impressive example of antique silverware has a cast silver swan necked spout embellished with fluted decoration and applied leaf motif to the lip.
The ornamentation to the underside of the spout incorporates a vacant oval cartouche below a shell motif.
The cast circular spreading foot is encircled with further gadroon decoration to the rim.
Note: This maker may have been recorded in the missing 1739-1758 Smallworkers' Register or the 1758-1773 Largeworkers' Register, determining this maker's mark to be classed as 'unidentified' in all documents. The mark has been discovered on other holloware items such as mugs, salts and sauce boats.
