This tall hand-blown cranberry crystal decanter with silver overlay is an exquisite example of the artistry achieved by the masters of American silver overlay decoration. The body, neck, and stopper are richly embellished with an allover Art Nouveau floral motif, demonstrating the technical excellence and refined taste of America’s finest silver overlay companies of the late 19th century.
Dating to circa 1880s, this sterling silver and crystal decanter is offered together with seven finely detailed matching glasses (each approx. 6.5 cm high), all featuring silver-plated overlay bands that echo the flowing Art Nouveau style of the decanter. The decanter itself stands at 31 cm in height, with its original silver cap and elegant form designed for claret, wine, or spirits service.
