Arts & Crafts Style Sterling Silver Goblet
About the Item
An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver goblet made by C F Hancock & Co in the Arts & Crafts style; an addition to our wine and drinks related silverware collection.
This exceptional antique George V sterling silver goblet has a bell shaped form onto a knopped cylindrical pedestal to a circular domed foot.
The surface of this antique goblet has a planished finish in the Arts & Crafts style.
The body of the vessel is encompassed with rounded oblong panels of embossed circular motifs.
The knop and foot of the goblet are encircled with incurved petal shaped designs, matching the style of the decoration to the body.
This impressive Arts & Crafts style goblet was made by the distinguished and collectable silversmiths C F Hancock & Co.
The founder of the company, Charles Frederick Hancock, opened his own facilities soon after receiving a Royal Warrant of Appointment from Queen Victorian. Hancock advertised his goods as 'successors of Storr & Mortimer' due to his previous partnership with renowned silversmiths Hunt & Roskell.
Condition
This antique sterling silver goblet is a very good gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface are all very clear.
